The Bike It Belfast Off-Road Duathlon will be held on Sunday 24th October 2010 in Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Park, Belfast. The event will be open to adults (18+), juniors (16-17), kids (8-15) and relay teams (including a fun family relay!) More details on the event and entry to follow on Monday 6th September. |

Lagan Valley Trail Race Tuesday 24th August 2010 saw the return of the Lagan Valley Trail Run at Shaw's Bridge Sports Complex in Belfast. 40 children competed over 1.6km and 70 adults contested a 6.5km race. Johnny Davis, Pioneer Group MD, noted: "Once again we had a fantastic turnout and fantastic weather for the race. It is wonderful to see so many kids with their coaches and parents supporting the event. The variation in the course seemed to be well received by all adult competitors. WATERWAYS IRELAND FERMANAGH LAKELAND TRIATHLON The Waterways Ireland Lakeland Triathlon was on Sunday 27th June 2010 in Fermanagh Lakeland Lodges. Over 100 competitors completed a sprint distance triathlon consisting of a 750m open-water swim, 20k bike and 5k run. For more information on the event click here. KIDS AQUATHON The Kids Aquathon was on Saturday 29th May 2010 and welcomed 70 athletes. Johnny Davis, MD of Pioneer Group said "Congratulations to all who took part in our Junior & Kids Aquathon. It was great to see so many happy smiling faces all putting so much effort into the event. Increasing event opportunities for younger athletes is a priority for both us at the Pioneer Group and for Olympian Triathlon Club and we intend to host more such events in the near future." McVITIE'S JAFFA CAKES MUD MADNESS! Once again, Mud Madness made its way to Foymore Lodge, Portadown on Sunday 28th March 2010 and this year we welcomed over 650 competitors! EUROPEAN FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS: Sheffield 2011
Pioneer Group have been confirmed as the Sport-Specific Delivery Partner for the 2011 European Fencing Championships to be held in Sheffield. The championships will be the largest fencing event in the world in 2011 and will be used to test infrastructure and systems leading up to London 2012.
Johnny Davis, MD of the Pioneer Group, commented: "Following on from our involvement in running the Sport-Specific Delivery at the World Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships in 2009, we are delighted to have been asked to facilitate the same role in Sheffield 2011."
AILEEN MORRISON BIKE IT SPONSORSHIP DEAL
The Pioneer Group are pleased to announce a new sponsorship agreement for Ireland's elite triathlete, Aileen Morrison. Aileen has recently agreed a sponsorship deal up to the London Olympics in 2012 with Bike It Cycles, Belfast. The sponsorship agreement will see Bike It providing Aileen with a new customized bike from Trek, a full range of cycle clothing and all necessary support systems in her campaign to qualify for London 2012.
Johnny Davis, MD of the Pioneer Group commented: "We are very pleased and excited to have agreed this sponsorship arrangement with Bike It. Their belief in Aileen and their vision for supporting local athletes was instrumental in the formation of the relationship."

32 MARATHON CHALLENGE The Pioneer Group have taken on the role as one of the Event Delivery Partners for the 6 event legs in Northern Ireland. In July 2010, Gerry Duffy and Ken Whitelaw will attempt to run 32 consecutive marathons in 32 days! The event is being co-ordinated and organised entirely by Autism NI and Irish Autism Action. UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER FENCING ACADEMY Pioneer Group are pleased to announce that Johnny Davis has been appointed as Strategic Advisor for Fencing for the University of Ulster Fencing Academy.
