YARDMEN CYCLE & WALK Pioneer Group is excited and pleased to announce our appointment as the Event Management Company for the Titanic Yardmen Cycle & Walk on Sunday 1st April 2012. The event is a fundraiser for Bowel Cancer UK and is being run in conjunction with Connswater Community Greenway and the East Belfast Partnership. It aims to encourage both cycling and walking on the Comber Greenway. It will celebrate the contribution of the Yardmen to the history of ship building in Belfast, and also the story of the Titanic. The event will be directly linked through its partnership with Belfast City Council to the Titanic Centenary Celebrations 2012, and it will be the first event to be held on the new iconic Titanic Belfast signature building after its opening on March 31st 2012. On the day of the event, participants will walk or cycle one of the routes that the Yardmen would have taken to work each day. BOCCIA WORLD CUP 2011 Pioneer Group are pleased to have been appointed as the Event Management Company for the delivery of the Boccia World Cup 2011 at University of Ulster Jordanstown . Stakeholders for the event are CPISRA, GB Boccia, Disability Sport NI, UK Sport, Sport NI, Newtonabbey Borough Council, University of Ulster. The event is a London 2012 Paralympic Qualifying event with over 190 athletes and 350 support staff from 33 nations competing from 20th - 26th August. EUROPEAN FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 Pioneer Group were recently responsible for the successful delivery of the European Fencing Championships and the IWAS European Wheelchair Fencing Championships in Sheffield. Johnny Davis, Pioneer Group Managing Director, was the Competition Manager for the tournament which has been hailed as the most successful European Fencing Championships to date. BOCCIA TRAINING CAMP Pioneer Group have been appointed by GB Boccia to organise a training camp at UUJ which is taking place this weekend 17th-19th June. The full GB Paralympic Boccia Team are here for 3 days training and to test the facilities for the forthcoming Boccia World Cup in August 2011 which we are delivering in partnership with our strategic partners MLS. The World Cup event is a pre qualifying tournament for London 2012. Westfield Health British Transplant Games Belfast 2011 The British Transplant Games is the annual sports event organised by the Transplant Sport UK charity. Pioneer Group are the local delivery partner for the Sports Schedule for the British Transplant Games which is taking place in the Belfast area in August 2011.
The British Transplant Games will see 1600 people coming to Belfast to compete in 19 sports at a selection of venues. The sports events are organised for those people who have been the recipient of a life saving organ transplant, be it heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel or bone marrow.
On Saturday 6th August we will be holding The Belfast Telegraph Donor Run at 6pm in Ormeau Pk and this will allow non recipients to run in either a 3k or a 5k race to raise funds for Transplant Sport UK. www.niathletics.org
The British Transplant Games is also a focal point to encourage more people to sign up to the Organ Donor Register www.organdonation.nhs.uk

JAFFA CAKES MUD MADNESS 2011! On 17th April 2011, Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness returned to Foymore Lodge in Portadown for the 5th time. With a new chip timing system and more obstacles than ever before it is safe to say this was out best Mud Madness yet. Event Manager Luke Hanley commented: "Mud Madness is one of our most anticipated events every year and we really took it to a new level this year. The Championchip timing system made a huge difference to the competitors' experience and we are very grateful to our sponsors McVitie's Jaffa Cakes for their ongoing support, without which the event would not be possible." Youth Sports Trust Athlete Mentor Pioneer Group is pleased to announce that Johnny Davis has been appointed as an Athlete Mentor for The Youth Sports Trust in the lead up to London 2012. This prestigious role will see Johnny working with The Youth Sports Trust on the delivery of The Young Ambassadors programme across GB and NI. The programme is designed to encourage young people to get involved in promoting the values of both the Olympics and Paralympics through their schools and local communities and to encourage more people to get involved in sport through a number of activities including the London 2012 Get Set and the Adidas AdiStars initiatives.
